Today I will tell you about the development of our game Ranch Simulator.
Since the opening of the page in stores and the first video of the teaser, a lot of time has passed, the game has transformed both visually and technically.

The game will feature many quests. A few of the additional quests will be related to the fact that you will need to help neighbors collect their crops, or mow their lawn.

We also created a shooting, weapon and hunting system for our simulator.

At the moment we are working on building system and saving system. Now dev blogs will appear on the site regularly. Follow the development news, leave feedback, and share your impressions!

Despite the fact that the technology was created by Nvidia, it works on the latest generations of graphics cards from AMD as well. There is a separate plugin for the Unity engine to help add flex to the project. However, for Unreal Engine it is necessary to make a lot more effort to get the flex to work – you need to assemble the engine from the source on the github.

However, the official version of the engine with the integrated flex is 4.19.2, and the latest version of the engine itself is already 4.24.
In version 4.22 and larger, the engine has been greatly changed, and it’s no longer possible to transfer flex to the new version of the engine, and developers from Nvidia will no longer be able to release updates with a 99% probability, since now they are all interested only in their RTX technology.

There are also enthusiasts who are trying to update Flex on their own for the new versions of the engine (The official forum of Nvidia Gameworks for Unreal Engine 4). Thus, the latest version of the engine, on which it is possible to use Flex – 4.21(Thanks to Olento). Since then, changes in the rendering and physics of the engine have become so significant that it is already impossible to compile the project without corrections in the engine itself.

In our case, we had to abandon the use of Flex, because we needed the latest engine version, since 4.21 is not the most stable version. Thus, one of the very promising and cool technologies from Nvidia was forgotten by its creators themselves, in order to support RTX technology.

Will there be more then one breed of animal per type and is there males and females? 

• most likely, we will release the game in early access. Therefore, at the start of sales there will be one species of animals of one type, but other species both males and females are already in development.

Is farm machinery needed?

• at the start there will be only five modes of transport for transporting tools and animals. after the release, it is possible to add new modes of transport, such as tractors and excavators

1. Are there multiprofile / multi save slot support?

• Yes, the game can be saved in different slots.

2. Can you rename player & select M or F player at start & edit their look?

• At the release will be only a male character without the ability to edit the appearance.

3. Can you cares/breed horses?

• Breeding and training of horses is planned.

4. Can you repair stuff & cars?

• It will be necessary to clean up/ demolish the old destroyed house, and also to find all parts of the old UTV in garage. Also, you can buy and equip new houses and cars.

5. Are there a winter?

• There will not be a change of seasons on the release, but in the future such a possibility is likely.

6. Steam cloudy save?

• Yes.

7. Will there be multiplayer in the game?

• We position our game as a single-player first-person simulator, so on the release, the multiplayer will definitely not be.

8. When it going to be released?

• Q1 2020.
